Kranky Thumb Collective Manifesto
The Kranky Thumb Collective online space is a safe space for all people to join in the courageous work of putting down our cellphones to rediscover what it means to be human in the world anew. KTC seeks to shift the priority and practice of cellphone and electronic device usage so that we can experience living and thriving without the continual influence of social media and other forms of messaging that prove to have harmful effects when not used with clear measures to balance the intake of digital media consumption.
By clicking “I Agree” to the following 7 statements below you are committing to keeping this online space safe for everyone. After completing the KTC manifesto, you will be directed to the Kranky Thumb Collective online space where you will be asked to sign up. If you have any questions, please feel free to email krankythumbcollective@gmail.com.
1. As part of the Kranky Thumb Collective I will respect the stories shared in this collective and not share them outside the collective unless granted permission.
2. I will respect the alternative activities (art-making, exercise, bird watching, etc.) individuals choose to engage in instead of using their electronic devices.
3. As a KTC member I will be respectful of all members of the Kranky Thumb Collective.
4. I acknowledge that people of all faiths or no faith at all are welcome to be a part of the Kranky Thumb Collective.
5. The Kranky Thumb Collective will be a safe space and respectful space regardless of one's race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), disability, or familial status.
6. Politics and political propaganda do not have a place in the Kranky Thumb Collective online space. Here we are free of talk concerning all things political for the sake of our non-profit status and our souls.
7. I understand the social media will be used where needed for organizing and communicating with KTC members and potential members. And, our collective KTC goal is to work together to reshape our relationships with electronic devices.
