Rev. Erin Spengeman Hutchison
Minister of Kranky Transformation
Rev. Erin Spengeman Hutchison is a pastor who has worked with children and youth in churches for more than 20 years. Although Erin has spent most of her life pastoring people in church, she’s more concerned about people who’ve left church or who have been hurt by the church and its exclusive theology. These days, you’re more likely to find her talking theology over a beer than in a church.
Erin recently found herself constantly zoning out on her phone and social media in her spare moments because she was crispy fried from parenting and the relentless news cycle—instead of figuring out what she wanted and needed to do with her time.
Through her participation in the Kranky Thumb Collective, Erin has worked on rediscovering who she is and what gives her life meaning when she puts down her phone. And even though she’s been making art her whole life, she’s finally rediscovered that she is, in fact, an Artist as well. She thrives on Bruce Springsteen, coffee, making collages, and asking hard questions. Erin lives in Cincinnati, Ohio with her super cool husband, Todd, their three awesomely weird kids, and the sweetest dog on the planet, Arthur.
Erin is leading a Kranky Finding Your Way group in Maineville, Ohio. If you would like to participate, please email Erin.
Say hello to Arthur, the best Kranky pup ever!
