The Kranky Thumb Collective vision is to empower humans to
1) remember what it means to be human without our screened devices, 2) reintegrate with our human selves, and 3) revalue each other, all creatures, and the planet.
Nowadays what we put in our minds is greatly determined by the content our thumbs scroll through and experience on screens each day. Think about all that content. Of course our thumbs our kranky! And it’s making us humans kranky too!
The Kranky Thumb Collective seeks to shift the priority and practice of screen, social media, and AI usage so that as humans we can experience live a meaningful life without the continual influence of digital media and its harmful effects on our way of thinking and being in the world.
We are not saying don’t use your screened devices and AI. KTC is about realigninng the relationships we have with our screens so they are no longer an appendage and instead they become the communications tools they were intended to be. This requires remembering what it means to be human without an electronic device in our hand.
Our goal is to work with individuals, groups communities, schools, and institutions to empower folks to tangibly redefine their relationships with screened devices for the sake of humanity and the natural world.

The Kranky Thumb Collective, in partnership with Tumbuh Global is actively building the resources, community, and activities you can engage with in person or in a safe and trusted online space. Now some of you may be asking, “If I need to connect online, isn’t that the same things as being on my phone?” And we say, “Nope.” Because when you connect with the Kranky Thumb Collective, you are not madly scrolling through your phone. You will encounter other folks who will encourage you, and challenge you to put down your phone because they too want to make their thumbs happy. Happy Thumb, Happy Life!
